Welcome to Hawks XC 2025!

We are so excited to get back to it this week, and welcome all the new and returning Hawks to Cross Country 2025! The Delta Hawks is the premiere youth distance running club in the Sacramento region, and we are committed to developing the next generation of confident and competitive distance runners. Our athletes work hard and have fun pushing themselves and each other every week to see just how far they can fly. It is glorious!

 

This season begins on Monday (8/18) and ends (for most) on November 16th in Louisville, KY, at the Middle School Nationals. More information related to that meet will follow.

 

This year we are transitioning to offer two different paths for team participation. Those wanting to join the team for the regular season and experience the Hawks as we have traditionally trained our athletes, we offer a three-month “Team Plan” for one $300 fee. This includes all the meets of the regular season and the trip to Nationals in Kentucky. For those seeking a more competitive, dedicated, serious training experience, we are offering what we are calling the “JO Plan,” which includes a personalized workout plan and dedicated coaching at practices and meets, as well as a focus on reaching the National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in December (so a four-month season). The JO Plan is a monthly plan, intended to be pursued all year-round, and costs $150 per month. For those interested in the JO Plan or with any questions, please contact Coach Eric as soon as possible to determine if it is the right fit for your athlete and to get the most out of the personalized plan.

 

Meanwhile, our first meet of the regular season is less than 2 weeks away, on August 30th at the Lagoon Valley Classic. This meet is open to all returning athletes – new Hawks won’t have uniforms yet so your first meet will be the following week. Please RSVP on the TeamSnap app if you want to participate, the deadline to register is Monday August 25th.

 

This week begins the two-week trial for everyone.  This is our chance to make sure the team is a good fit for your athlete. Please arrive ready to run with tied running shoes and a water bottle prior to 5:30 at the Boathouse so we can get started right away. This week won’t be too heavy workwise, as we get everyone accustomed to our routines, but it will still be good for everyone to work back into the season.

WEDNESDAY

Run On Your Own

3-4 miles


THURSDAY

Boathouse – 5:30pm

Hill Repeats (3-5)


FRIDAY

Stretch and Recover


SATURDAY or SUNDAY

Long Run - 3-6 miles
