MEET OUR COACHES

Coach, Eric Thronson

Coach Eric grew up in Eastern Washington State, where he was a stand out distance runner. He qualified for the state cross country meet 3 times, finishing 13th his senior year. He set his 3200m high school record of 9:17, and also ran 4:17 and 1:58 for the 1600m and 800m respectively.  Out of high school, Coach Eric was recruited to run at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he ran personal bests of 3:55 for 1500m, 8:32 for the 3000m, 15:00 for the 5k and 30:40 for the 10k. He also led his XC team to the NCAA Division I National Championship Meet his junior year.  More than anything else, Coach Eric believes in the life lessons and camaraderie that come with the development and growth of a distance running team, and wants to share those values with the athletes he has the privilege of coaching.

Coach, Haley Orr

Haley grew up in San Diego, where she discovered her love for running while competing in high school cross country and track. Throughout high school, Haley excelled in both sports, earning multiple appearances at the state meet and setting a school record for the 4x400 relay. After high school, Haley continued her running journey at Cal Poly Pomona, where she competed in various events, including relays, sprints, and even the heptathlon. Following her college career, Haley transitioned to distance running. She found success in races ranging from 5k to half marathons, with personal bests including a 5:32 mile, a 19:57 5k, a 49:56 10k, and a 1:51:34 half marathon. Today, Haley's focus has shifted to coaching. She holds certifications as a USATF Level 1 Coach, RRCA Level 1 Coach, ACE Group Fitness Instructor, and FIT4MOM instructor. As a Delta Hawks racing team coach, Haley is excited to help our athletes develop their strength, endurance, and passion for running, all while fostering a supportive and enjoyable training environment.
